Möbel
Bevor ein Möbelstück hergestellt werden kann, muss jemand genau überlegen, wie es aussehen und aus Einzelteilen zusammengesetzt werden soll.
Before a piece of furniture can be made, someone must think carefully about how it should look and how it should be assembled from individual parts.
Man sagt dazu, das Möbelstück wird entworfen.
This is called designing the piece of furniture.
Und weil Möbel schön aussehen und zugleich praktisch sein sollen, machen das Menschen, die eine besondere Ausbildung dafür haben: die Möbeldesigner.
And because furniture should look good and be practical at the same time, this is done by people who have special training for it: the furniture designers.
Manchmal haben sogar berühmte Künstler Möbel entworfen, und besonders schön oder interessant gestaltete Möbel kann man in Museen bewundern.
Sometimes even famous artists have designed furniture, and particularly beautiful or interestingly designed furniture can be admired in museums.

Grammar in this text
Passive with modal verb in subordinate clause
Bevor ein Möbelstück hergestellt werden kann
In this dependent clause introduced by 'bevor', the passive infinitive 'hergestellt werden' comes before the finite modal verb 'kann' at the very end. This is the typical word order for passive constructions with modal verbs in subordinate clauses.
Extended participial attribute
besonders schön oder interessant gestaltete Möbel
The past participle 'gestaltete' is placed before the noun like an adjective and is extended by the adverbial phrase 'besonders schön oder interessant'. It functions like a relative clause: 'Möbel, die besonders schön oder interessant gestaltet sind'.
Indirect question with 'wie' and verb-final order
wie es aussehen und aus Einzelteilen zusammengesetzt werden soll
After 'überlegen', 'wie' introduces an embedded question. In this construction the finite verb 'soll' must stand at the end; note also the coordinated passive infinitive 'zusammengesetzt werden'.
Inversion after fronted subordinate clause
Bevor ein Möbelstück hergestellt werden kann, muss jemand genau überlegen
A subordinate clause can occupy the first position in a German sentence. The finite verb of the main clause ('muss') then immediately follows the clause and comes before the subject ('jemand'), producing inversion.
