Common questions
What are Sprachbausteine?
The gap-fill section of German exams: a sentence with one word removed and four candidates, only one of which is grammatically possible. It tests case endings, verb agreement, prepositions, connectors and word order: the machinery rather than the meaning.
How do I get better at them?
Read the whole sentence before looking at the options, and decide what *kind* of word is missing: a case ending, a verb form, a connector. Three of the four options are usually the right word class in the wrong form, so identifying the slot narrows it before you weigh meanings.
How many grammar gap-fill questions are there at A1?
70, in 7 sets of 10. Every word used is within the A1 vocabulary.
