German Flashcards: Free Spaced-Repetition Decks, A1 to C2

A card you answer correctly comes back later; a card you miss comes back sooner. Do that for a few weeks and the words you find hard are the ones you see most, which is the whole trick. The alternative, going through a list front to back at a constant rate, spends most of its time on words you already know.

These decks use SM-2 with Anki's defaults, the same scheduling most spaced-repetition apps ship with.

Only in how the work is presented. The daily plan gives you a short list to work down, with the whole day visible at once. The deck shows one word at a time and asks you to answer it before it moves on.

Underneath they are the same thing: one word list, one record of what you know, one set of review dates. Use whichever suits the day. You cannot fall behind on one by using the other.

A1 if you are starting German, and otherwise the level below the one you think you are at. The decks are ordered by how common each word is, so the first cards of a level are the ones that pay for themselves fastest. CEFR levels explained if you are unsure.
