Common questions
Is there a rule for der, die and das?
There are reliable endings — -ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft and -ion are feminine; -chen and -lein are neuter; -er, -ling and -ismus are usually masculine — but no rule covers the core vocabulary. For those, exposure is the method, which is what this drill is for.
How much does getting the article wrong matter?
You will be understood, but the article drags the whole case system behind it: get the gender wrong and every adjective ending and every dative or accusative form after it goes wrong too. It is worth the drilling.
Where can I see all the nouns by gender?
The vocabulary section lists every masculine, feminine and neuter noun separately, commonest first, with the ending patterns that predict each one.
How many articles — der, die or das questions are there at B2?
60, in 6 sets of 10. Every word used is within the B2 vocabulary.
