An adjective in front of a noun takes an ending

ein großes Spiel

An adjective before a noun always carries an ending. After ein with a neuter noun it is -es: ein großes Spiel, ein kleines Kind.

nach + dative for a stretch of time

Nach einer Minute ist es klar

nach takes the dative: nach einer Minute, nach dem Spiel. It opens this sentence, so the verb ist still stands second.

nach Hause

gehen zusammen nach Hause

Going home is nach Hause; being at home is zu Hause. Hause is an old dative form that survives only in these two phrases.
