How many masculine nouns are in German B1?

The B1 list has 275 masculine nouns, out of 1,550 words at that level and 3,833 masculine nouns from A1 to C2.

Which B1 masculine nouns should I learn first?

Start at the top. The list is sorted by how often a word appears in a large corpus of spoken German, so der Gott, der Fall, der Punkt, der Grund, der Tod are the ones you will meet most.

How do I know when a German noun takes "der"?

Days, months, seasons, weather words, most nouns ending in -er, -ling, -ig, -ismus and -ant are masculine, as are the bare stems of many verbs (der Beginn). Otherwise, learn the article with the noun.
