Formhab = habe | was = etwas | 'ne = eine | gibt's = gibt es
Meaning and usage
Spoken German shortens a few very common words, and people write them that way in chats and messages: hab for habe (Ich hab viel zu tun), was for etwas (Da ist was Wahres dran), 'ne and 'nen for eine and einen ('ne Menge Mädchen), gibt's for gibt es (Was gibt's Neues?).
These are not mistakes; they are register. In a formal letter, an application or an exam essay they are wrong, and the full forms are needed: Ich habe etwas gefunden. In a chat with friends, the full forms can sound stiff. gibt's may also be written without the apostrophe, gibts.
