FormSoweit ich weiß, + Verb + Subjekt … | soweit ich mich erinnere
Meaning and usage
soweit ich weiß and soviel ich weiß mean as far as I know: they limit a statement to what the speaker knows. Soweit ich weiß, ist er einer der besten Ärzte in der Stadt. Similar: soweit ich mich erinnere (as far as I remember), soweit ich sehe (as far as I can see).
At the start of a sentence the whole clause is the first element, so the main verb comes right after the comma: Soviel ich weiß, gab es keine Probleme. It can also sit inside the sentence, between commas: Der Laden hat, soweit ich weiß, sonntags geschlossen.
