Form… zwar …, aber …
Meaning and usage
zwar …, aber concedes a point and then overrides it: Das Hotel war zwar teuer, aber es hat sich gelohnt, Ich habe zwar wenig Zeit, aber ich helfe dir. English has no single equivalent: admittedly …, but or it's true that …, but.
zwar usually stands inside the first clause, after the verb, but it can also open the sentence: Zwar regnet es, aber wir gehen spazieren. aber can start the second clause or stand after its verb: Mein Wagen ist zwar alt, läuft aber immer noch gut. It is one of the cheapest ways to make written German sound balanced.
