FormWessen + Nomen … ?
Meaning and usage
wessen is the question word for whose, the genitive of wer. The noun follows it directly, without an article: Wessen Auto ist das?, Wessen Idee war das? In an embedded question the verb goes to the end: Ich frage mich, wessen Auto das ist.
With a preposition, the preposition comes first: Auf wessen Seite stehst du? In everyday speech people often avoid wessen and ask with gehören: Wem gehört das Auto? Do not confuse wessen with wem (to whom) or wen (whom).

- wer asks for the subject and cannot stand before Tasche.
- Welcher Tasche is feminine, so the question word would be Welche, and it would ask which bag, not whose.
