Formwürde (Position 2) … Infinitiv (Ende)
Meaning and usage
würde is the Konjunktiv II form of most verbs. You put the conjugated würde in second position and the main verb as an infinitive at the end: Ich würde das machen. The forms are ich/er würde, du würdest, wir/ihr/sie würden.
Use it to talk about what you would do in a situation, to make polite statements, and to ask polite questions like Würdest du mir helfen? A common mistake is putting the infinitive in the wrong place, for example Ich würde machen das, or using the indicative mache when a hypothetical meaning is needed. Note that hätte, wäre and könnte are used directly, not with würde.

Correct answer: würde
The phrase An deiner Stelle signals a hypothetical situation, so Konjunktiv II würde is needed, with the infinitive machen at the end.
- werde is the future auxiliary and states a real plan, not a hypothetical action.
- will is grammatical with an infinitive, but it means a real intention, not a hypothetical 'would'.
- muss expresses a real necessity and does not fit a hypothetical statement.
